Sis, let me tell you something: your habits are either setting you up for the glow-up of your life or keeping you stuck in the same old cycle. Different day, different year, same you. So, what’s it going to be? Let’s get real about why you’re not moving forward, despite having all these amazing dreams and goals.
Here’s the truth: when it feels like nothing is changing, it’s time to check what’s on auto-pilot. Yep, those mindless habits you’ve been doing without a second thought might be the culprits keeping you in the same place. Lawwwwd knows that no one wants to be the same person year after year...hell month after month would borderline take me out! Let me break it down for you.
Think about it. Do you automatically smack that snooze button when your alarm goes off instead of getting up right away? Mmmmmhhmmm...(Ouch, I know that one hit home.) If your answer is, “Yep, that’s me,” then BOOM!—there’s a habit that’s not serving you.
Here’s the thing: even just waking up an hour earlier can change the game. Imagine having extra time to yourself without feeling rushed. Over time, you’ll notice a calmer, more focused version of you emerging. And that, my friend, is priceless.
Here’s How to Evaluate Your Habits
Here’s how you can start identifying and flipping the script on those autopilot habits:
1. Journal Your Day
Starting today, grab that journal and document everything you do—from the moment you wake up to the second your head hits the pillow. The goal is to uncover patterns and pinpoint habits that are running the show without your permission.
2. Ask the Big Question
For each activity, ask yourself: “Is this helping me or hurting me?” Remember, you are a product of your environment and habits. If it’s not serving you, it’s time to let it go.
3. Set Intentional Rules
If you know your phone is a distraction (and let’s be honest, it probably is), create rules for yourself. For example, no scrolling until after you’ve accomplished your morning goals. Boundaries aren’t restrictive—they’re empowering.
4. Choose the Better Version of You
Every decision you make is a vote for the person you want to become. Choose her, even if it’s uncomfortable. I get that sometimes we have no clue what this truly means. For me it simply means that i'm in a positive atomosphere daily and taking some sort of action towards the version I see as my future self. She’s worth it.
Here’s the bottom line: your habits shape your reality. The magic happens when you stop letting auto-pilot run the show and start being intentional. So, what’s it going to be? Keep hitting snooze or wake up and claim your glow-up? The choice is yours.
